Later he moved to Russia, playing for Moscow's Lokomotiv and Torpedo, as well as Alania (Vladikazkaz).He made his coaching name while managing the 'Loko', which became his second family, winning the Russian Cup with the club. Besides Lokomotiv, Cherevchenko managed Russian clubs Baltika (Kaliningrad), Arsenal (Tula), Khimki (Moscow region), and Fakel (Voronezh), as well as Tajikistan's Istiklol (Dushanbe).
